"الخليقة" شعر ملحمي استوحى الشاعر معانيه من الينبوع الصافي، التوراة وكتاب الله القرآن الكريم، مع بعض الوقائع الخيالية أملاها عليه خياله انسجاماً مع سرد القصة وتذوق القارئ حسن انسيابها بعيدة كل البعد عن التنافي مع النص الكريم، فالملحمة تحتوي على خمسة فصول، لكل منها ثمانية أناشيد، ولعل نشيد مقاطع عدة تتساوى عدد أبياتها. وقد بلغت الملحمة ألفين وسبعمئة وأربعين (2740) بيتاً من الشعر الموزون المقفى على بحر الخفيف التام المتعدد القوافي، مع مقدمة وخاتمة في أسلوب فلسفي يرتكز على الدين ويعتمد الخيال.
