JCB est entré dans l’imaginaire de très nombreux jeunes. Car, dès que la télévision a commencé, Jean-Claude était déjà à l’écran, tenant son micro et animant à sa manière, selon sa personnalité (puisqu’il n’y avait jamais eu une école de présentateurs au Liban...), des émissions de jeux et de variétés. Il fascinait la plupart des jeunes de ma génération et l’on sentait en lui une formidable propension à créer des mots d’esprit. Gymnastique qu’il a dû exercer dès son jeune âge. Car Jean-Claude écrit comme il respire. Il m’a montré une fois les enveloppes contenant ses écrits : poèmes-chansons pour le Théâtre de 10 heures, contes et nouvelles, articles de journaux. Il y en avait une armoire pleine. Il écrivait, mais il ne dessinait pas et n’arrivait pas à concrétiser par l’image toutes les images qui lui passaient par la tête. Et pourtant, me voici en train d’écrire une préface pour un des ouvrages de son coffret où il est justement question de bandes dessinées. STAVRO JABRA
