Book Description
معجم في المفردات العامية التي تجري على ألسنة الدمشقيين، رتبها المؤلف على الألف باء. يستعرض المؤلف في كتابه الكلام الشامي القديم، فيضع كل كلمة في موضعها من الحرف الذي تبدأ به، ثم يشرحها الشرح الوافي لإيضاحها. وغالباً ما يورد كناية عامية أو مثلاً شامياً يتعلق بالمفردة؛ لاستكمال الشرح كقوله مثلاً ((انبحتت متل الأباوة))، ((الإبرة اللي فيها خيطين ما بتخيّط)). وإن كان للكلمة أصل فصيح جاء به وأشار إليه مثل (دَحَم) فيقول: أصلها اقتحم. أو يوضّح أصلها الذي نقلت عنه مثل (دخلك) فيقول: أصلها داخل عليك. وربما أعادها إلى أصلها التركي مثل (يطأ) وتعني الأريكة، أو الأجنبي مثل (فوداس) بمعنى العطلة. ومن ناحية أخرى فإن المؤلف يورد كتابة الكلمة بلفظها العامي كإثباته الهمزة بدل القاف في كلمة قبر (أبر)، وكقلب موضع الهمزة في جاء (إجا)، واستعمال الزاي بدل الذال في أذى (أزى). وذيّل المؤلف كتابه بإيراد الأمثال والكنايات التي جاءت خلال معجمه، ورتبها فيه على ورودها في الكتاب وليس على حروف بداياتها، مشيراً في كل مثل إلى رقم الصفحة الذي ورد فيه. وعقّب على المثل والكناية بالشرح.. فبلغت أمثاله 1211 مثلاً.
