"تأمل عبد الله سفينة سعيد القادمة من القمر وهي ترتبط بالمحطة المدارية بن فرناس حسب الموعد المحدد. بعد يومين من اجتماعات العمل المكثفة بين الرجلين، وفي طريق عودته إلى الأرض، غادر عبد الله المحطة مسروراً، فالوضع العام يشير إلى أن العجلة تدور، وأخبار سعيد السارة واقتراحاته لتحسين وتطوير الحياة على قاعدتهم على القمر أثلجت صدره، ومن المؤكد أن اقتراحه بدء إنجاب الأطفال لا بد وأن يلقي موافقة لجنة الطاقة والفضاء في مجلس الشعب فبعد عشرين عاماً سنكون قادرين على غزو الفضاء الواسع حيث سيولد جيل متميز بمواصفات خاصة، معتاد على الحياة في جاذبية خفيفة وفلي أماكن مغلقة، كيف لا وبيئته الطبيعية هي أنفاق القمر. سعيد العائد إلى القمر يشاهد الأرض البعيدة تتضاءل أمام ناظريه، يدقق النظر في الساحل التونسي الخلاب ويتخيل مدينة الحمامات بمبانيها البيضاء وخضرتها، يفكر بإنشاء بركة ونوافير ومدرجات وزراعة عشب أخضر، أشياء بسيطة تذكر بالمكان الذي لن يعيشوا فيه ثانية. فكر في الطبيبة النفسانية نهلة، حال عودته سيقوم بطلب يدها للزواج، سيقيمون حفلاً بسيطاً يغنون فيه أغان وأهاريج جميلة بهذه المناسبة، هذه الأهازيج التي تتشابه إلى حد بعيد من المحيط إلى الخليج".
