يبين هذا الكتاب أن القرآن الكريم، الذي هو وحي الله الأخير الذي أنزل على محمد r يعلم الإنسان كيف يبني حضارة إنسانية يغمرها الحب والسلام من خلال التفاعل الثقافي بين مختلف الناس - أفراداً، وجماعات وأمماً ودولاً- مع احتفاظ كل منهم بخصائصه وميّزاته الخاصة به. يبين هذا الكتاب، كيف أن الله منح الإنسان حرية كاملة في مجالات المعرفة ؛ الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والمجتمعية والأيديولوجية، إلخ. ويوضح أن القرآن الكريم يعلم الإنسان كيف يستخدم هذه الحرية في سبيل الله لتحقيق السعادة للبشر كافة مهما كانت أديانهم وألسنتهم وألوانهم وقومياتهم وأعرافهم. ويبين أن إرضاء الله، بمفهوم القرآن الكريم، يكون في خدمة الإنسان لأخيه الإنسان والتعاون معه لتحقيق السعادة والتقدم في هذا العالم، وفي أن يعامل الإنسان الحيوانَ والنبات والطبيعة عموماً معاملة حسنة. ويتضمن الكتاب شعار القرآن الكريم الذي يبين أن التفاعل السلمي بين الناس، وليست الصراعات، هو السبيل إلى السعادة والتقدم؛ بل هو سبيل الله. ((السلام والمعرفة بَنَّاءان، أما الحرب والجهل فهدَّامان)).
