يتميز الإقتصاد الإسلامي عن غيره بأنه إقتصاد رباني واضعه الإله الحكم العدل، مما جعل إرتباطه بالعدل إرتباطاً نابعاً من عقيدة المسلم بدينه. وتحقيق العدل بالنسبة للمسلم إنما هو فرع من فروع العبودية لله تعالى، لأن الإقتصاد الإسلامي هو فرع من فروع التشريع الإسلامي الذي تعبدنا الله به على هذه الأرض، لذلك كان تحقيق العدل الإقتصادي مقصود الشريعة في كل أركان النظرية الإقتصادية (الإنتاج، التبادل، التوزيع، الإستهلاك). وتخلف المسلم عن العدل في بعض تصرفاته إنما هو تخلف عن جوهر التشريع الإسلامي، لا يصح بعده أن يدعي الخضوع المطلق لواضع هذا التشريع، لأنه الغاية التي من أجلها أرسل الله الرسل وأنزل الكتب. ومفهوم العدل في الإسلام شامل لا يتجزأ لأنه نابع من الرحمة الإلهية الشاملة لكل الناس، فلا يمكن للمرء أن يطلب العدل لنفسه ويمنعه عن غيره، وليس للظالم أن يدعي محبة الله لأن شرط هذه المحبة الإتصاف بالعدل، قال تعالى: "إن الله يحب المقسطين" الحجرات 49/ 9. يقتصر هذا البحث على بيان دور العدل بوصفه سلوكاً خلقياً في أهم المعاملات المتعلقة بأركان النظرية الإقتصادية بالإنتاج والإستهلاك والتداول والتوزيع على المستوى العام والخاص بهدف الدلالة على دور العدل في النشاط الإقتصادي الإسلامي، وتميزه من سائر النظم الإقتصادية في ذلك.
