نصرالدين علوي، من مواليد مدينة قسنطينة في الجزائر..
• يعمل في المجال الإعلامي منذ حوالى خمس وعشرين سنة.
بدأ حياته المهنية في صحيفة حكومية اسمها \"المساء\"، ثم انتقل إلى التلفزيون الجزائري حيث عمل كمذيع.
• أسس صحيفة يومية مستقلة \"اليوم\" عام 1999 لا تزال تصدر باسمه حتى يومنا هذا.
• اضطر إلى هجرة قسرية عام 2003 بسبب خلافات مع السلطة، وانتقل منذ ذلك الوقت للعمل في تلفزيونات أبوظبي ثم دبي ثم قناة الجزيرة.
• درس في جامعة الجزائر حيث التحق بكلية العلوم السياسية والإعلامية سنة 1981 من القرن الماضي.

\"الريميس\" هي روايتي الأولى، كتبتها لملء فراغ غزا حياتي فجأة بعد لجوئي إلى هجرة قسرية، فجاءت مليئة بالأحداث التي عشتها وعايشتها قبل الهجرة. أحداث صنعت تفاصيل المشاهد الروائية، وفرضت شخوصها، ومازالت تطغى على الصورة الدرامية لجزائر تسعينيات القرن الماضي. كان كل شيء مباحاً أمامي، مشاهد درامية لجيل كامل خطفت منه الحرب أحلامه. جيل سُلبت منه وسائل المقاومة، ثم قوُتل حتى قـُتل. كان الوضع في الجزائر، ولا يزال كذلك، لا يحترم الحياة. وضع يتسابق فيه الجهلة على قتل الحالمين، ويتآمر فيه الجبناء لاغتيال الأبطال. \"الريميس\" اسم لهاوية تقف على حافتها الجزائر منذ أكثر من ألفي سنة. وعبر التاريخ دُفعت البلاد باتجاه الارتماء فيها. تتردد الجزائر دائماً أمام الحياة حتى يستشهد أبناؤها بدلاً منها. لقد كان برهان بطلاً يجب أن يموت؛ فالجزائر لا تحب الحياة لأبطالها. وإذا كتبت الحياة لبعضهم فإنهم يتحولُون إلى أساطير، مثل عمار بوزوّر الذي تحول إلى أسطورة يجهل الناس وجوده. كان حياً في ضمائرهم فقط، يروون قصصه كأنه شخصية وهمية. \"الريميس\" هي محاولة جادة لفهم واقع معقد لشعب تحولت كل انتصاراته تقريباً إلى هزائم. شعب سلبت منه، على مر التاريخ، وسائل مقاومته، وفي كل مرة يبتدع وسائل مقاومة أخرى.
