عبر لغة شفافة مستفيدة من الشعر صيانة وتوظيفاً وتضميناً يختار "مؤيد الشيباني" لغة التخاطر لكي تكون خير معبر عن حال المتعبين في هذا العالم من فلاحين وغرباء، ومحرومين.
ولا غرابة أن يتخذ من الشعر وسيلة لفهم معاناة الإنسان وتضميد جراحه. ففي قصيدة بعنوان (كل هذا العذاب) يكتب الشيباني "للعطاش يريقون أعمارهم في الصحارى ولا يشربون / للخلود الذي ضاع في المفترق / للجلود التي احترقت كل أجسادها وهي لم تحترق .. / للعصور التي رحلت والعصور التي لم تزل نائمة / (...) / لعصور الخديعة / للعذوبة تقطر حتى من الأمنيات اليباب / كل هذا العذاب".
هكذا هو مؤيد الشيباني يعيد تفكيك المفاهيم، ويكشف زيفها وخطابها في السياسة والأدب والفن والذي لا يعدو أن يكون خطاباً ميتافيزيقياً، استغل القائمون عليه الناس ليصبحوا حطاماً منثوراً " ... في هذا اليوم الطالع من بغداد / كجرح يغرس في الروح بكاء الوجع الأبدي / الأخبار تقولُ انفجرت أربع سيارات / واحدة قتلت عشرينا ... / والأخرى هدمت ذاكرة المتنبي / والثالثة انتثرت في سوقٍ شعبيٍ / والرابعة التمّ عليها عمال بناءٍ / ما أبشع هذا الصرح ؟ / تتنادى لبناء خرائبه / أشباح القبح ...".
يضم الديوان ثمانين قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث نذكر من عناوينها: "ما من حمام طار" ، "فلاحون على مائدة سنحاريب" ، "البكاء خلاصة إنسان" ، "إبن النهر الكوفي" ، "الأصدقاء القدامى" ... الخ.
