في مجموعته القصصية هذه يحاكي "فلاح الجواهري" ذكريات الزمن القديم فيناجي الآخر بقدر ما يتحدث عن الذات. هي قصص وحكايات وذكريات عاشها مؤلفها في أزمنة مختلفة، على طول حياته ومفترقاتها. إنه هنا يرسم الحكايات بلغة شعرية غاية في الدقة والمتعة والجاذبية، يكتب اللقطات من زوايا مختلفة. يتواصل من خلالها مع التفاصيل المحيطة بالإنسان في وسط العوالم المتلونة في هذه الحياة. هي صور متداخلة ومتشابكة مع الذاتي والإنفعالي، تماماً كما مع الشعري في وصف الأشياء والحالات. ففي فاتحة حكاياته "الضباب والغابة" يتناول حكاية فنان على مشارف العقد الثامن ما يزال عند مفترق الطرقات يقبع في غربة عن وطنه، وصفه بأنه مزمن ضياع " ... هل أنت تتبع الضباب أم أنه هو الذي يتبعك، ها هي أحزمة منه تقترب منك متوجسة، شاحبة، حذرة، تنزلق فوقها أوشحة أخرى باتجاهات متغايرة (...) للضباب همس مبهم .. (...) أنت محوط الآن بأحزمة ضباب أكثف وأشباح تتحرك .. تظهر وتختفي .. إنها جذوع السنديان الضخم العتيق .. تواصل ...". وفي بقية قصصه اللاحقة ينحو الكاتب صوب الإلهي والوجودي كمنظور فني وكأسلوب في الكتابة الشعرية حيث يتخذ لها عناوين متنوعة مثل: "إختر منيتتات، حبتا الكرز، فانتازيا، الرسم عبر الهاتف، مسعودة، السينمة، يا رمز المعالي".
