"الأردن الجديد" مجلة فكرية أدبية سياسية كان لها مكان الريادة في الحركة الثقافية والأدبية الأردنية في مطالع القرن العشرين. ويأتي هذا الإصدار تحت إشراف اللجنة الوطنية العليا لإعلان عمّان عاصمة للثقافة العربية لعام 2002. لقد شكلت هذه المجلة وأخواتها في تلك الحقبة الزمنية من تاريخ الحركة الثقافية في الأردن، مناخاً فكرياً وأدبياً، باشتمالها على صور من حرك الحداثة والتجديد في ذلك الزمان وفي ذاك المكان. يلفت نظر القارئ تلك الفقرة التي احتلت زاوية من زوايا الصفحة الأولى: "ترحب إدارة المجلة باشتراك القرار في هذا الباب وهي مستعدة لأن تدفع خمسة وعشرين قرشاً مقابل كل حقيقة تنشرها لهم بشرط أن يذكر مصدرها". ذاك الاتجاه إن دلّ إنما يدلّ على مؤشرات إيجابية تصب في عمق الوعي الفكري للدور الذي يجب أن تلعبه الصحافة في ذلك الوقت، وفي كل زمان، بالإضافة إلى ذلك فإن أبواب المجلة وزواياها تدل على منهجية إعلامية ناضجة، جعلت من مجلة "الأردن الجديد" تجربة صحافية ربما تقدمت زمنها من حيث الشمولية الإعلامية التي غطت الأخبار الاجتماعية والسياسية والثقافية، بما في ذلك السمة النقدية التي لم تغب عن عبارات ومقالات هذه المجلة.
