"يركض الدمع مستقلياً في الطريق، هارباً يمتطي فسحتي في المضيق، إنني حائرٌ بين مدٍّ وجزر، أسأل البحر هل يستريح الغريق؟ لا جواب في البحر يشفي غليلي، لا انعكاس ولا شعلةً من فريق، لا اشتعال ولا ومضة من مطر، طعنة من سراب وثغر رقيق، أمطري يا قوافي نداء القلوب، انهضي يا سطوري هلمي إلى شرفتي، واتبعيني، لأمسح عني، غبار الدروب. هكذا خلسة تستباح الذنوب، هكذا يطرب السمع صوت النقيق، أيها البحر خذني بعيداً، إلى مائك المستحيل، وهييء لنا شاطئاً من رذاذ، لكي يصعد الملح في الحداقات، وأمضي..، بلا غبطة... أو سلاح". "ليس بعد" قصائد نثرية ذات إيقاع حزين، تطل من معانيها أبعاد إنسانية تطفح بالمشاعر التي تغمر الإنسان في كل حين.
