"نزل موسوليني وبياتشي فوجدا نفسيهما في مكان واسع يحدّه حائطان وتقدمهما الضابط فيتوريو وأوقفهما بجوار الحائط. ودعاهما بصوت حازم أن لا يتحركا. وبدأ وجه موسوليني يتغير وتظهر عليه علامات الخوف، وكان وجه بياتشي مصفراً صفرة الموت بينما كان موسوليني يحاول أن يسري عنها. وفجأة انتبه الاثنان على مقدم ضابط آخر يمسك ورقة في يده ويقول: بأمر الرئاسة العامة لجماعة المتطوعين الأحرار لدي أمر بأن أوقع عليك الجزاء الذي قرره الشعب الإيطالي.. وهو الإعدام.. وجمد وجه موسوليني كالحجر، وتراخت قواه ولم يقدر على النطق.. وتقدم الضابط ثلاث خطوات بسرعة وأخرج مسدسه وأطلق خمس طلقات على صدر موسوليني الذي وقع على ركبتيه وانكفأ رأسه على صدره ثم تداعى صريعاً. وبينما بياتشي تصرخ وهي تنحني على الدوتشي الصريع دوت طلقتان موجهتان إليها فسقطت على جثة موسوليني". تلك ليست خيالية، إنما مقالة جاءت في الصفحة الأولى للمجلة الأسبوعية للسياسة والأدب والاجتماع الأردنية "الرائد" وجاءت تحت عنوان "مصرع الدكتاتور وعشيقته". يوم موسوليني الأخير كما يصفه "بيترو بياتشيني"، وكما هذا الموضوع اكتظت مجلة "الرائد"، بالصفحات التي حوت مواضيع ومقالات وأخبار وأحداث شكلت محوراً هاماً في الحياة السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية والأدبية في المناخات الدولية بصورة عامة، وفي المناخات العربية على وجه الخصوص. وهي تعني بأعدادها التي جاءت مرتبة ومنسقة ضمن هذا المجلد، تعني الكثير بالنسبة للمؤرخ وللسياسي ولعالم الاجتماع وللأديب لدراسة تلك الفترة التاريخية التي جاء فيها صدور هذه المجلة. حيث كان تاريخ صدور عددها الأول الأربعاء 20 حزيران 1945. والأهم من ذلك فهي تعني أكثر بالنسبة للصحافة وللصحفي الذي يريد قراءة مضمون وأسلوب صحف الأمس، والتأكد من مصداقية خبرهما، ومن حرية توجهاتها أو عدمها بعد أن طال عليها الزمن وصار بالإمكان الحكم عليها بكل تأكيد.
