Most of the others now live in the united states, in the san francisco area alone there are over 4,000 ramallah people. In compiling his history of ramallah, written evidence of which begins in 1186, professor shaheen has searched out photographs of ramallah in archives throughout the world. But the greater number of discoveries were made by countless personal visits to individuals in ramallah itself. The book is a moving record of one of the best-known palestinian towns.
