النصوص لا يمكن أن تخرج من العدم، فهي تمثيل أمين لواقع ما، أو تصوير لحالة عامة أو خاصة يريد الكاتب نقلها إلى القارئ، ولإن الكاتب جزء من هذا الواقع، فهو لا بد له من أن يتأثر ويؤثر، وهكذا بدا لنا يوسف غيشان في كتابه "إطلق قمرنا يا حوت" والذي وسمه بـ "هرطقات ساخرة" جمع فيها حكايا انطباعية تلامس هموم القارئ العربي وعلى أكثر من صعيد في السياسة والإقتصاد والمجتمع تتقاطع ثيماتها مع صور الحياة المتعددة والمتنافرة، تلك التي هي من نوع المضحك المبكي إلى ما آلت إليه حياتنا كعرب في الآونة الأخيرة. يقول الكاتب: كتبت ما كتبت عن بلدي، لكنه يصلح تماماً لبلدانكم العربية جميعاً، كما تصلح سخريتكم لبلدي تماماً. ومن منكم بلا سخرية، فليرمنا بحجر".
وفي (اطلق قمرنا يا حوت) نحن إزاء فضاءاً روائياً ساخراً يتحرك خلاله الكاتب بين الأمكنة والأزمنة، يرصد الشعوب والحكومات معاً، ويكتب عنهم، أليس هو القائل "الكاتب السافر مريض على الأغلب بالتمرد الدائم على الواقع (المعيوش)، مريض بالتمرد على البداهات التقليدية، مريض، يتأوه ويتنهد ويتعذب، فتخرج أناته على شكل خليط سحري عجيب وفوضوي.. من السخرية والمرارة والمقاومة والعبث.. والعدمية أحياناً (...)".
