قصة البيضة : منذ عدة قرون مضت، عندما كانت الحيوانات لا تزال تغطي سطح الأرض كلها، و البشر يتجولون و يجوبون أرجاءها أحرارًا غير متقيدين بقيود، كان هناك شاب يدعى " إكسام "، و كان صيادًا ماهرًا، فكان في مقدوره ملاحقة نعامة عبر سهل مليء بالحصى، وهو يضع على عينيه مئزرة وهو الأمر الذي كان يبهر الفتيات، كان يساعد الآخرين و يتمتع بنظر ثاقب و خفة الحركة، وعندما يحل المساء كان يظل مستيقظًا و يضم شفتيه آخذًا أنفاسًا قصيرةً متلاحقة، و في تلك الأثناء حدثته أمه قائلة : ماذا تفعل هناك ؟ فأجابها : إنني أجرب أسلوبي في النفخ و ردت عليه أمه بقولها : حسنًا، ضع يديك فوق السجادة، حيث يمكنني أن أراهما كان حلم " إكسام " أن يصطاد الفيل الصحراوي، حيث كان يعتقد أن معايير الرجولة الوحيدة للصيد الشاب أن يتعقب أثر الفيل الصحراوي فائق القوة و يقوم باصطياده . ذات يوم، حضر بعض الشباب الأكبر سنًا إلى " إكسام " و قالوا له : سنخرج في رحلة صيد، لتعقب أثر الفيل الصحراوي، و سوف تستمر هذه الرحلة لعدة أيام و ليالٍ، و نريدك أن تكون معنا، فأنت صياد ماهر و لديك رمح عاصف، فضلاً عن أن أحدًا من لا يعلم متى سيصادف في طريقه نعامةً تسير عبر سهل ملئ بالحصي لم يتمالك " إكسام " نفسه من الفرح و غمرته سعادة لا حدود لها، فأسرع إلى أمه يستأذنها في الذهاب، و إذا بأمه ترفض رفضًا قاطعًا. فرد عليها قائلاً : حسنًا، في هذه الحالة هل تسمحين لي بقضاء الليلة مع صديقي " إكساب " في كهف أسرته ؟ فردت عليه أمه بقولها : لا بأس و لكن إذا عدت في غضون شهر، ساحبًا خلفك فيلاً صحراويًا، ستكون قد وقعت في مشكلة كبيرة، يا بني . و مع ذلك أصر " إكسام " على الانضمام إلي الشباب الأكبر سنًا و بدءوا رحلتهم لتعقب الفيل الصحراوي ...... لمعرفة تفصيل و بقية القصة و الهدف منها في حياتنا اليومية، يمكنك قراءة كتاب : أنا الذي حركت قطعة الجبن الخاصة بك ، من تأليف : داريل بريستو بوفي ، ومن إعداد قسم الترجمة بدار الفاروق
