إن دراسة المسألة الأرمنية في التاريخ القديم والحديث تكسب أهمية بالغة على الصعيد الإنساني إذ أن إبادة الجنس تشكل أهم الإعتداءات على حقوق الشعوب وأن الإفناء المنظم لشعب نتيجة هويته التاريخية الخاصة يعد الأخطر في بنية المجتمعات الإنسانية؛ وبخاصة أن ذاكرة البشرية لم تنسَ بعد ما حصل من حملات الإضطهاد المتكررة والإبادة والتهجير للشعب الأرمني.
انطلاقاً من هذا الهم الإنساني والتاريخي تأتي دراسة الكاتبة نقية حنا منصور عن (الأرمن والدولة العثمانية) للسؤال: لماذا أبيد الأرمن من قبل الدولة العثمانية في عام 1915م، وعن الموقف الدولي الإنساني حيالها؟ والبحث عن حقوق أولاد الأرمن الذين نجوا من المجازر بإعادتهم إلى موطنهم الأصلي وتقرير مصيرهم في إقامة كيانهم الوطني؟
وللإجابة عن هذه الأسئلة وغيرها اتبعت الكاتبة خطة تمثلت بمقدمة تسلّط الضوء على التكوين السياسي التاريخي للأمة الأرمنية في مراحل مختلفة (قبل الميلاد وبعده) وثلاثة فصول تبحث في الجذور التاريخية للأرمن والموقع الجغرافي لأرمينيا، وعملية الزحف العثماني نحو أرمينيا واحتلالها، وظهور المسألة الأرمنية، وما جرى في عهد السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني من وقائع وحروب، نتج عنها مقاومة أرمنية لم تسلم من مجازر وتهجير قرى وقتل، وأخيراً الموقف الدولي والعربي من القضية الأرمنية.
