تِروكُرَل، رائعة من روائع التراث الهندي وبالتحديد الأدب التاميلي المُنحدر جغرافياً من جنوب الهند. يعود عمر الكتاب إلى 2000 عام تقريباً وهو عبارة عن مجمع هائل للحِكَم والأمثال (١٣٣٠) حكمة شعرية قام بنظمها جميعها فردٌ واحد لا غير، وهو الحكيم (تِروفَللوفر). تمت ترجمة الكتاب إلى أكثر من 30 لغة من لغات العالم وهي فرادة لم يسبقه إليها سوى الإنجيل والقرآن والكييتا. كان من بين أهم قرّاء كتاب تِروكُرَل المهاتما غاندي حيث يُنقل عنه أنه وصفه بإعجاب قائلاً: "أقوال تِروفَلّلوفَر قد لامست شغاف روحي ولا أخال أحداً قد أغدق على البشرية كنزاً من الحكمة كما فعل تِروفَلّلوفَر". رغم قدمها التاريخي، لا تزال طروحات الكتاب تُعتبر غايةً في المواكبة لعصرنا الراهن، فهي تعالج مسائل وقضايا تَهم كلّ فرد منا وعلى اختلاف موقعه (رب منزل، صديق، رجل دولة، ولي أمر، مُتيّم أو مُغرمة)، قضايا في شتى مجالات الحياة يود كلٌّ منا أن يعالجها في التوّ بمفتاح بسيط أو عِظة قصيرة تفتح ذهنه وقلبه على رؤية خلّاقة نفهمها وتفهمنا لأنها ببساطة مولودة في قلب الشرق الذي ننتمي إليه، كما وتظل بفضل لحنها وإيقاعها الشعري جليساً في منتهى السلاسة والإمتاع.
