عزيزي القارئ: الكتاب الذي أقدمه إليك هو جزء من عصارة تفكيري وانشغالي بالشأن العام واشتغالي به عبر ما يقرب من عشرين عامًا. وهو يتضمن مختارات من المقالات التي ظهرت في جريدة "الأهالي" في عمود "لقطات"بين اعوام 1998 و 2015 . وهي فترة طويلة، شهدت أحداثًا جسامًا كثيرة. بصراحة، لم أكن أخطط لنشر هذه المقالات في كتاب، لولا إلحاح عدد من الأصدقاء والقراء. كان رأيهم أنه من المفيد جدًا إتاحة تلك المقالات لشريحة جديدة من القراء في شكل كتاب. ولم تكن عملية تجميع كل المقالات التي كتبتها خلال هذه الفترة الطويلة، والتي قاربت ال 800 مقال، بالمهمة السهلة نظرًا لطول المدة، وغياب أرشف متكامل، وتشتت المقالات بين قصاصات من جريدة الأهالي وملفات في جوف حاسوبي الشخصي.. إلخ. لقد كانت المهمة أشبه بمحاولة إيزيس جمع أشلاء أوزيريس في المأثور الفرعوني - مع الفارق طبعًا. وبعد جمع ما تيسر جمعه، استدعى الأمر اختيار عدد محدود منها، رأيت أنه من المفيد أن ينشر في كتاب يكون حجمه معقو .ًال فكانت المجموعة التي بين يديك.
