عبر قراءة نص مغمور لماركس، وإعادة قراءة نصوص نيتشه والثنائي دولوز وغتاري وأيضاً عبر إعادة قراءة فوكو، يبرز الكاتب أن الدَّيْن هو قبل كل شيء بناء سياسي، وأن علاقة الدائن / المدين هي أساس العلاقة الإجتماعية الرئيسية في مجتمعاتنا.
لقد أصبحنا أكثر مديونية للدولة ولشركات التأمين وبصفة عامة للمقاولات، ويجري تشجيعنا وإجبارنا على الوفاء بإلتزاماتنا والتحول إلى "مقاولين" لحياتنا ولـ "رأسمالنا البشري"، وهكذا تجد أنفسنا وقد أعيد تشكيل أفقنا المادي والذهني والعاطفي أو خلخلته.
كيف يمكن الخروج من هذا الوضع المستحيل؟ كيف الفرار من الوضعية النيوليبرالية للإنسان المدين؟ إذا افتقينا أثر موريزيو لازاراتو في تحليلاته، فإنه يجب الإعتراف أن المخرج لا يمكن أن يكون فقط تنقيّاً إقتصاديّاً أو ماليّاً، بل يجب أن نعيد النظر جذريّاً في العلاقة الإجتماعية الأساسية التي تهيكل الرأسمالية: نظام الدَّين.
