بقدر ما يسعى هذا الكتاب لوصل ما انقطع من تاريخ الأدب الروسى فى روسيا نفسها ، مقدماً مئات الكتب التى طواها النسيان ، فضلاً عن الكتب التى لم تقرأ فى حينها ولم تنشر على الغطلاق ، بقدر ما يفتح الباب لوصل ما انقطع أيضاً بين القاريء العربى والادب الروسى فى القرن العشرين ، الذى لم يصلنا منه باللغة العربية ، غلا ما اصدرته دور النشر السوفيتية وفقاً لرؤى أيدلوجية محددة ، فضلاً عن التعريف بالادب الروسى " غير الرسمى " الذى تعرض للإضطهاد على مدى عقود طويلة وكذلك الماعات الادبية السرية ، التى ظل الناس يتناقلون أسمائها على مدى سبعين عاما بأكملها وكذلك أدب المهجر الروسى الذى لم يبدأ الروس فى قراءته بحرية إلا بعد التحولات الكبرى التى أعقبت انهيار الإتحاد السوفيتى.
