كثيراً ما نقرأ فى القرآن الكريم عن قصص الأنبياء والمرسلين، ونلاحظ أن القصة تتكرر فى أكثر من سورة، وقد يكون اللفظ متشابهاً إلى حد كبير، ولكن أسلوب العرض يختلف فى كل مرة، فلا تشعر أنه تكرار؛ بل إعادة تذكرة بالحدث ولكن من ناحية أخرى غير سابقتها، فكأن الحدث أمامنا .. ننظر إليه مرة من هذا الاتجاه، ومرة ثانية من هذه الناحية، وثالثة من بعد آخر، فيتجسم الحدث أمامنا وكأننا نعاصره ونعيشه بكل وقائعه؛ فنستجيب للعبرة المقصودة، وتترسب فى عقولنا ووجداننا القيمة المستهدفة من القصة.. وكان هذا ما استرعى انتباه "د. رشدى البدراوى" وجعله يفكر فى تأليف هذا كتابه "قصص الأنبياء والتاريخ"، ولأن الكتابة فى قصص الأنبياء ليس موضوعاً جديداً؛ بل تناوله الكثير من الكتاب والأدباء، فقد لاحظ الكاتب عدم وجود توثيق تاريخى لهذه القصص. فى كتاب "قصص الأنبياء والتاريخ" يناقش ويعرض "د. رشدى البدراوى" قصص الأنبياء فى سبعة مجلدات تحتوى قصص الأنبياء من آدم - عليه السلام- وحتى خاتم الأنبياء والمرسلين محمد - صلى الله عليه وسلم- وقد ضمّن عدد من الخرائط التى توضح أين عاش الرسل؟ وكيف قدر لهم أن يوجدوا فى هذا المكان أو ذاك؟، ويحاول أن يربط بين الأحداث فى منهج تحليلى، ولا يأخذ التفسيرات الجاهزة مأخذ اليقين، وإنما يضعها جميعاً تحت ميكروسكوب الفحص والتمحيص.. كما أن الكاتب يتطرق للعديد من الأسئلة الشائكة التى تسللت إلى كتاباتنا التاريخية وبها الكثير من المبالغات والمغالطات نتيجة امتزاج الحضارة الإسلامية بعقائد وحضارات أخرى، امتزجت فيها الكتابة التاريخية بقناعات أبناء هذه العقائد، وطرح المؤلف أسئلة مثل: أين هبط آدم؟، ما هى شجرة العائلة من آدم حتى سيدنا محمد؟، ومتى كان الطوفان؟، وهل كان الطوفان خاصاً ببلد سيدنا نوح أم كان عاماً فى العالم كله؟، وهل النبى إدريس هو أوزوريس؟، وكيف هاجر أبناء قابيل وهابيل؟، وقصة الذبح والتضحية وأين حدثت؟، وهل أنكر سيدنا إبراهيم زوجته فى مصر وقال عنها إنها أخته؟، وأين عاش سيدنا صالح وسيدنا هود؟.... إلخ.. كل هذه الأسئلة الشائكة المحيرة وغيرها الكثير والكثير يتطرق إليها "د. رشدى البدراوى" فى سلسلة "قصص الأنبياء والتاريخ"
