نبذة النيل والفرات: في هذا الكتاب محاولة لإلقاء الضوء على الاكتئاب النفسي، الذي يعتبر-دون مبالغة-من أهم وأخطر مشكلات الإنسان في العصر الحالي، ذلك أن التقدم العلمي، والتطور الحضاري الهائل لم يتمكن من وضع أحد لمعاناة الإنسان، الذي توقع أن يجد فيهما الحل لكل مشكلاته، بل إن العكس تقريباً هو ما حدث. فقد شهد العصر الحديث إزدياداً في معاناة الإنسان، حتى لم يعد بوسعه الاستمتاع بالحياة، وفقد سكينه النفس، وأدى به عدم التوافق إلى الاضطرابات النفسية، ومنها حالة الاكتئاب التي يتزايد انتشارها في عالم اليوم. هذا ولم يقتصر الكتاب على عرض المعلومات التي تتعلق بموضوعه وهو الاكتئاب النفسي، أسبابه... أنواعه، وأساليب علاجه بل حاول نقل آخر ما صدر من أبحاث ودراسات. ووجهات نظر عصرية حول موضوع الاكتئاب النفسي، والذي أصبح محل اهتمام متزايد من قبل أوساط وجهات عديدة في أرجاء العالم، وفي الوقت ذاته فقد حرص على ذكر الثابت فقط من لحقائق دون التعرض لما تضاربت حوله الآراء. كما وحرص أيضاً على ألا يقتل كاهل القارئ بتفاصيل علمية متخصصة. أو بمصطلحات عربية وأجنبية معقدة من تلك التي يعمد إلى استخدامها معظم من يكتبون في مجال الطب النفسي، وحاول أن يعرض الأفكار بطريقة أبعد ما تكون عن الغموض، وحرص على إضافة تجربته الخاصة كي يعطي القارئ رؤية متكاملة للموضع تسهم في تيسير فهمه سواء للمتخصصين، أو لغيرهم من المهتمين بالثقافة والمعرفة في كل مجال.
