(تسأل نفسها) ولكن متى... لماذا لا أسأل سعود حسناً.. الآن سوف أكلمه بالهاتف.. ما رأيك يا أمي. أم سعاد: افعلي ما ترينه مناسباً يا ابنتي. سعاد: ألو.. سعود.. كيف صحتك يا سعود (بدلال) ماذا تفعل الآن.. سعود حبيبي.. لم تخبرني عن زواجنا متى.. أقصد موعد الزفاف.. أعني الحفلة.. الزواج.. و.. ينخفض صوتها، تصمت فجأة يكفهر وجهها، تنقبض ملامحها.. تنادي باسمه بفتور تصاحبه دهشة وذهول: سعود.. تغلق الهاتف، تنسكب على خديها الدموع".
