ولعل عبارة وردت على لسان لالو تضيء جوانب هذا العمل المتشابك إلى حد الغموض: "أوه، أفروديت، أضيئي ليلة اللعنات هذه".. هذه العبارة هي سر الغموض الذي يلف المسرحية لأنها تحتوي على كلمة السر أو مفتاح العمل كله (اللعنة) حتى أن المخرج الكوبي "ريفوليتا" أطلق تلك الكلمة على مسرح ترييانا كله فأسماه "مسرح اللعنة".. واللعنة في "ليلة القتلة" هي المعول الذي يحطم صرح الأسطورة وهي الساعد الذي يشيد صرح الإنسان.. وعلى هذا يتغير العالم في أعين هؤلاء الصغار الذين يعطونه شكلا مغايرا وجديدا.. أسمعهم يغنون: "الصالون ليس صالون، الصالون هو حجرة نوم.. الحجرة ليست حجرة، الحجرة هي الحمام.. الحمام ليس حمام، الحمام هو البستان.." ويرون أن الزهرية توضع على الأرض وليس على المائدة، وأن الطفاية... وهكذا.. - المترجم
