يدرس هذا الكتاب موضوع الروح ويبين أن الإنسان خلق من مخلوقات الله أوجده من العدم ويمنيه ثم يبعثه في يوم القيامة ليحاسبه على أعماله وأن الله وحده هو الذي يتوفى الإنسان إذ أردنا أجله في الحال أي يميته وهو نفسه الذي يتوفى الإنسان إذا أردنا أجله في المستقبل.. وقد اختلف في تعريف مفهوم واحد للروح فقال جمهور العلماء إن في الجسم روح منفصلة عن الجسد لها رأس به عينان وأذنان وأنف وفم فيه أسنان ولسان وهذه الروح تفارقه حين الموت وتشاهده وهو يغسل ويكفن وتقترب من الكفن وتدخل فيه فإذا صارت في القبر وحيدة خرجت هذه الروح من الكفن وحلت في الجسد وتقعده وتهيؤه لسؤال منكر ونكير وإذا كان مستحقًا للنعيم تنعمت معه وإذا استحق العذاب تعذبت معه وفي هذا الكتاب يستدل المؤلف على الروح المفارقة بأدلة من القرآن والسنة وهم متفقون على الأدلة ومختلفون في تفسيرها.
