حسان علي حلاق (1946 - ) هو كاتب وأكاديمي لبناني وُلد ببيروت عام 1946 بمنطقة الطريق الجديدة، حصل على دبلوم عال في الدراسات الإسلامية ثم ماجستير في التاريخ عام 1977، وبعدها حصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة الإسكندرية عام 1981، ألّف حلاق عدة مؤلفات وقد ترجم عديد منها إلى الألمانية والإنجليزية. وهو عضو في اتحاد الكتاب اللبنانيين. وحائز على جائزة جامعة الإسكندرية التقديرية عام 2007. متزوج وله ولدان وثلاث بنات.

ألّف حلاق أكثر من خمسين مؤلفاً في مواضيع تاريخية وإسلامية، ومن أشهرها:

يعاني المجتمع العربي في التاريخ الحديث والمعاصر من كثير من القضايا والمشكلات السياسية والعسكرية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والتربوية وجزء كبير من هذه المعاناة تعود بجذورها إلى عهود الاستعمار الغربي وإلى رسائله وأساليبه الهادفة إلى تمزيق الأمة العربية وفك أوصالها والقضاء على وحدتها السياسية والاقتصادية. انطلاقاً من هنا فقد رأي "حسان حلاق" أنه يمكن المفيد وضع دراسة هذه التي بين أيدينا محاولاً فيها الدراسة بعض القضايا والمشكلات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والتربوية والثقافية واللغوية والإصلاحية في العالم العربي، بما فيه قضايا المرأة والطفولة والأمية والتربية والتعليم، وقضايا الجاليات العربية والإسلامية في الغرب، وقضايا نظرة الغرب إلى العرب، وقضايا ومشكلات الإصلاح والتحديث ومشروع الشرق الأوسط الكبير. كما وخصص بعض الدراسات كتابة لقضايا لبنان الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والتربوية والثقافية، بما فيه نتائج الحرب اللبنانية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، ومشكلات الهجرة، والتهجير، وقضايا الثقافة والتعددية.
