يتناول هذا الكتاب بالدراسة بحوث ودراسات من عالم الحروب الصليبية وهو عالم تأكد لكاتب هذه السطور غزارة موضوعاته وتعدد مصادره التاريخية إلى درجة كبيرة. وقد احتوى الكتاب على عدة موضوعات فهناك الاضطهادات الصليبية لليهود حوض الراين بألمانيا عام 1096م وذلك من خلال حولية يهودية كتبها الربي اليعازر بن ناثان ويهدف البحث إلى تناول ظاهرة المذابح التى حلت باليهود هناك من حيث الدوافع والأحداث وكذلك النتائج. ثم هناك دراسة اخرى عن مستوطنة البيرة الصليبية خلال المرحلة من 1115إلى 1187م ، وتهدف إلى تناول ظاهرة الاستيطان الصليبي في فلسطين كذلك تعمل على التعرض لأوجه المقارنة بين ذلك الاستيطان في القرن 12م والاستيطان الاسرائيلي هناك في القرن العشرين، من أجل إدراك عوامل التشابة بين المشروع الصليبي والصهيوني وهما مشروعان استعماريان في العصور الوسطى والحديثة. ويضاف إلى ذلك توجد دراسة عن الاتجاهين الآسيوي والافريقي للتوسعات الصليبية في القرنين 12، 13م بهدف معرفة توجهات السياسة الخارجية الاستعمارية الصليبية ولتحليل اسباب نجاح الصليبيين آسيويا على الرغم من انهم فشلوا افريقيا اذ ان تلك الزاوية على نحو خاص كانت احد محاور تاريخ الصليبيين في المنطقة على مدى القرنين المذكورين. كذلك يتجه بحث الأسماك في بلاد الشام عصر الحروب الصليبية إلى دراستها وتوزيعاتها الجغرافية سواء في المياة العذبة أو المالحة ويتعرض إلى وسائل إعداد الأسماك للطعام وكذلك المتاجرة فيها إلى آخر تلك العناصر والبحث بالتالي يلقي الضوء على موضوع ندرت فه جهود الباحثين. وتحتوي دراسة أخرى عنوانها "دراسات التاريخ الاجتماعي للحروب الصليبية الصادرة في الخمس والعشرين سنة الأخيرة" على عرض ببلوغرافي ونقدي للتأليف عن الجانب الاجتماعي لتلك الحروب خلال المرحلة الزمنية المذكورة وهى مرحلة شهدت طفرة غير مسبوقة على المستوى الدولي وكذلك العربي في مجال الحروب الصليبية.
