نبذة النيل والفرات: يتضمن هذا الكتاب وسائل وطرائف معالجة العديد من المسائل في مختلف الميادين العملية والعلمية وإيجاد الحلول لها. ويتألف الكتاب من خمسة فصول عالج الفصل الأول مفهوم الخوارزميات وطرائق حلها، مع بعض الأمثلة الجيدة عليها، أما المعادلات الخطية فقد شغلت الفصل الثاني كله. إذا نظر إلى هذا النوع من المعادلات على أنها خطية حيث أن كثيراً من الرياضيات التطبيقية يختزل إلى مجموعة من المعادلات أو نظام خطي. الفصل الثالث يدرس حلّ المعادلات غير الخطية وأهم الخوارزميات المعروفة والمقارنة بين هذه الخوارزميات من حيث الكفاءة والدقة في الجواب وسرعة التقارب مع أمثلة وبرامج تطبيقية مهمة، أما الفصل الرابع فهو مدخل بسيط لحل التكاملات العددية هي من لمجالات المهمة التي تنطوي على إيجاد القيم التقريبية لتكامل محدود لدالة معينة، حيث أن العديد من المسائل في الرياضيات والفيزياء كإيجاد مساحة تحت المنحنى أو إيجاد حجم جسم ما، يؤدي إلى تكامل محدود. والفصل الخامس فقد كرّس لدراسة الأخطاء وأنواعها وكيفية السيطرة عليها وتقيدها مع بعض الأمثلة المفيدة، هذا وقد أنهى كل فصل من هذه الكتاب بمجموعة من التمارين المهمة.
