يدور موضوع الكتاب حول فكرة دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية ومراحلها المتتابعة بداية نشوء فكرة الإستثمار داخل إطار من الأفكار الإستثمارية البديلة وانتهاءً بإعداد التقرير النهائي عن الدراسة. وتتمثل دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية في مجموعة من الدراسات التي تسعى لتحديد مدى صلاحية مشروع إستثماري ما أو مجموعة من المشروعات الإستثمارية من جوانب عدة: سوقية – فنية – مالية – تمويلية – إقتصادية وإجتماعية. وعلى هذا يكون "مفهوم الجدوى الإقتصادية" عبارة عن عملية جمع المعلومات عن مشروع مقترح ومن ثم تحليلها لمعرفة إمكانية تنفيذ، وتقليل مخاطر وربحية المشروع. وبالتالي يجب معرفة مدى نجاح هذا المشروع أو خسارته مقارنة بالسوق المحلي واحتياجاته. ومن أجل تبيان أهمية دراسات الجدوى في الإستثمار يقسم المؤلف دراسته إلى تسعة فصول ومباحث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: الفصل الأول: المدخل إلى دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية للمشاريع. الفصل الثاني: دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية الإستثمارية وتقييم مشروعاته. الفصل الثالث: إعادة هندسة العمليات الإدارية (الهندرة) للمشاريع. الفصل الرابع: الجدوى التسويقية. الفصل الخامس: أهمية موقع المصنع، أسس تحديده وتأثيراته. الفصل السادس: الدراسة المالية للمشروع. الفصل السابع: التجارة الإلكترونية والانترنت ودورها في تطوير المشاريع. الفصل الثامن: دراسة على تصميم الموقع العام للمنشآت السياحية والفندقية. الفصل التاسع والأخير: المصطلحات والمفاهيم المهمة في الجدوى الإقتصادية والمشاريع.
