سْويِنْكا، وول ، شاعر ومسرحي وروائي وناقد نيجيري نال جائزة نوبل للآداب في عام 1986 ، في مسرحياته ورواياته قدم سوينكا نقدًا لاذعًا لمجتمعه جرد فيه ذلك المجتمع من رؤيته الرومانسية الأسطورية لنفسه وحاضره.
ورؤية سوينكا في ذلك رؤية مأساوية أدت به إلى الاصطدام بالأنظمة السياسية في نيجيريا فزج به السجن بين عامي 1967 و1969م.
وقد عبر عن تجربته في السجن بقصائد وأعمال نثرية.

تتناول مسرحيه (حصاد كونجى) موضوع الانقلابات العسكريه فى أفريقيا، وفى نيجيريا بصوره خاصه؛ فالصراع فى المسرحيه يجرى بين نظامين فاسدين: نظام ديكتاتورى يمثله كونجى ونظام قبلى يمثله أوبا دانلولا. أما مسرحيه( سكان المستنقع)، فهى تتناول حياه قريه تقف على أعتاب التغير نتيجه لتسرب النفوذ الخارجى إلى القريه الذى يدفع بها إلى حدود الأزمه.
