رواية تحكي معاناة طفل تم اختطافة مرات ومرات وفي الرواية يقول الكاتب سعيد الزيد "خرج سعد من المطبخ ونظر إلى الصالة، لا يوجد بها أحد، كانوا جميعهم في غرفة النوم، انطلق سعد سريعاً إلى غرفته وأخذ يجمع ملابسه القديمة، وكانت عبارة عن لبستين فقط، وأخذ بطانيته القديمة، ثم ذهب إلى المطبخ وأخذ كيساً للخبز معه، ورجع إلى الغرفة التي كانت عبارة عن حمام أصلاً فأخذ البطانية وملابسه، ثم نظر إلى إثباته اللبناني الذي كان موجوداً تحت المخدة ، فتذكر كلام نجوى أن إثباته هذا سوف يعرف الناس به ويحميه، أخذه معه وصعد إلى النافذة، وتعلق بالشجرة ونزل منها إلى الشارع، وكان وقتها الساعة العاشرة بتاريخ سبتمبر 1992.
