في هذا الديوان للشاعر العماني، مواضيع متفرقة تقضّ بهواجسها وأسئلتها انعكاس مرايا نفسه الشفافة، فتنعكس لغة جميلة وجدانية منتقاة الكلمات والتعابير كالزهور المتنوعة الملونة من حقل شاسع تشع عليه خيوط الشمس ويلفحه هواء عليل. تتماهى نفسه مع عناصر الطبيعة وآمالها: "النيل سافر فجأة/في قلبه/شوق/سؤال مربك/كيف اختفى أملي وما رجعا؟". و"يا حبيبي: ليتني/سفينة فوق الهوى/مندفع قلبي لقلبك الحنون.." يخاطب "أبو الهول": "أبا الهول يا عين أمتنا قد كفاك ثبُوتا/فكل كفاحاتنا زرعُها يصعد السُلّما" وقلق الشاعر دائم في الحياة، يعاند ارتباكه أو يخفيه: "أو تكفّ قليلاً عن الارتباك/لعلّ حديقة زيتونة ستحنّ إليك/فتضبط صورتها/مرة للسرور وأخرى للرجوع.." تتداخل عناصر الطبيعة والحياة، بأحاسيس الشاعر وحنينه وآلامه، وتبدو وكأنها أدواته الشعرية الخاصة: "حمامة بعشّها القديم تحضن السماء حولها/ونملةٌ تصيح لا تبغ هُويّتي ولو/كنتُ حبيسةَ الأنا/ما أبخس العيش بلا وطن". و"بيوت الحمام بروج تصفّ التراب أمام الرياح/فكيف يردّ الزجاج حنين العيون/نَهارٌ وأنتَ تحوك من الدمعات صُراخاً/زمان وأنتَ تغازل شمس الضحى هل/رأيت اللواتي يُقطّعن أيديهن/لأجل التقاط المعاني.." أما "إذا كنت تملك روحاً بحجم الفؤاد/فعُد لحياتك فيها رؤى لا تموت/إذا عُدت يوماً إلى قريةٍ/أو تخطيت ذكرى فلا تنس تقبيل سُمرتها في /الجبين.." تترافق الآمال والآلام في أغلب الأحيان، فماذا يفعل الشاعر بها: "حولي أرضٌ/بحناياها تحميني/أحجار الوادي أشواكٌ/أتخطاها/آلامي مثل آمالي..". في قصائد الشاعر، وصف شعري حساس غزير الصور، وسرد شعري تفوح منه القصة المنفلتة الخالصة من شوائب العادي والتقليدي: "تذوقوا مذاق شمسنا وأنتم تسرقون نارنا/أنتم خيالنا الذي يشدّنا/لا تشتروا طوق حمامنا الذي يلفّنا/من يشتري كآبة لداره؟.." و"ماذا بعد؟"، يقول الشاعر:" سأختصر المسافة مُسرعاً/كالحب يأتي فجأة/ويغيب عند البعض/دون مقدمات أو يموت لأنه حيّ يموت!/أليس لي جهة أصوّب نحوها أملاً جديداً؟..."
