في مجموعته الشعرية "وكأني لا أحزن!" بدا "موسى عقيل" وكأنه يكتب بصمت لينتج خطابه الشعري عبر أنساق من أنظمة حياتية دالة ترشح من سقف النداء والإرسال والبوح والإفصاح وانين الأنا الشخصية ليرسل بلاغاته عبر صيغ الحزن والتأسي على شيء مفقود في هذا الزمن.
"وكأنك لا تحزن!"-لا يعرف صلف الحزن سواي/من يزرع في البسمة شيئاً منّي؟/شوك وجفاف وسراب/إني صبار غيابك لكنّ غيابك أوسعُ من صبري!/العمر يضيقُ على سفر يمتدُّ/وكم أعجب من شمسٍ تمسك قلبي/كيف تغرق في معنى الظلمة عيناي!/يا أعظم من أظهر وجه الليل،/وإرى ببكاء الأرض أسارير الناي..".
بهذه المقتربات الذهنية والحسية وعبر سيلٍ من تداعيات الأنا ماقبل الآخر يبني الشاعر عالمه الشعري، وهو يعتني بجزئيات الصورة، جامعاً تفاصيلها للوصول إلى مشهدية شفافة تعبيرية جامعة حيناً وفاضحة ساخرة شكاكة إشكالية حيناً آخر.. "البحر آخر ما تبقى من دمي،/ومجاهل الأوهام آخرتي،/ويشتعل السراب معبراً عنّي،/كآلهةٍ،/وصمت الناس عبدي/حدّي الغناء،/تسافرُ الأروىاح رهن غوايتي سكرى،/وتسكر في روح جرائم الإنسان،/تنساني!/وقد جاوزت حدّي".
هكذا يتشكل الخطاب الشعري عند موسى عقل وهو يلقي بظلاله على القارئ ليصبح هو المتشكل بالوجع وليشارك الشاعر عيشه وإحساسه هذا....
يضم الكتاب تسعة عشر قصيدة في الشهر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "جرح غائم"، "وطن"، "قلق"، "طفل أرزق"، "بعض الكلام يجف"، "مطر يذكرك الحياة"، "قلّما ابتسم المكان"، "سراً عن الماء"، "جمر آخرتي" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
