يحوي هذا الكتاب المجموعة الشعرية الكاملة التي كانت قد نشرت في الأصل بالماليالم تحت عنوان (يا الله). وتعبر هذه المجموعة عن تجربة فريدة لشاعرة هندية كبيرة ظلت مرشحة لجائزة نوبل للآداب منذ عام 1984 حتى رحيلها عام 2009 ،كانت تبحث لعقود طويلة عن حقيقة الوجود ثم تأكد لديها أن هذه الحقيقة هي في حقيقة وجود الله سبحانه وتعالى كما يصوره دين الإسلام، وعبرت عن هذا البحث الطويل والشعور بالوصول إلى الحقيقة في ديوان "رنين الثريا" هو الذي بين يدي القارئ. ولا يوجد شاعر عربي أو أعجمي قد عبر عن مثل هذه التجربة قبلها في ديوان كامل. وتكاد قصائد الديوان تكون كلها تنويعات على نغم واحد، هو فرحتها الطاغية بالوصول واعتناقها الدين الإسلامي الحنيف. ولدت كملا ثريا عام1934 في ملبار – في كيرالا ونشأت في كنف عائلة هندوسية مشهورة بالأدب والثقافة، فوالدها كان مديرتحرير صحيفة كبرى ووالدتها شاعرة معروفة، كانت ثريا قد اعتادت أن تكتب معظم شعرها بالإنجليزية تحت الاسم المستعار كملا داس، وتنشر قصصها القصيرة بالماليالم تحت الاسم المستعار مادهوي كوتي، وعند إسلامها اتخذت اسم كملا ثريا.. كانت تعد لدى الكثيرين أشهر شاعرة وكاتبة قصة قصيرة في الهند، وعلى الرغم من أنها لم تكمل دراستها الجامعية إلا أنها منحت الدكتوراه الفخرية ورشحت لجائزة نوبل للآداب عام 1984.
