نطوي هذا الكتاب على خمسة أجزاء مخصصة للأطفال بأسلوب محبب جميل بلسان الجدة التي تقص حكاياتها الأسطورية على الأطفال. ففي (الأميرة وقاطع الطريق) يتحدث عن أمل بعيد غير مستحيل يصبح فيه جميع الناس أغنياء أصحاء بلا خطايا، ويوضح كيف يكدح الإنسان من أجل لقمته، وكيف يعيش الفقير وكيف يتألم المريض ولماذا يخطئ الناس وكيف يعودون عن خطئهم. وفي (بحيرة الله) يصور نتيجة التخلف عن التعاون، وكيف ينفرد المخطئ بذنبه، وكيف يواجه المتاعب وحده، ويسقط المعتدون معاً في بحيرة الله. وفي (عرس القطط) يتحدث عن نتائج الطمع التي تقود إلى المخاطر، وتنقلب الآمال من تحصيل الذهب إلى الفزع من العقارب والأفاعي. وفي (الثعلب فيروز) يتحدث عن نتائج الغدر والخيانة، وكيف يلاقي الخائن عقابه عاجلاً أم آجلاً. وفي (الأميرة النائمة) يتحدث عن ولادة أميرةٍ في الشمال يؤذيها الملح، وأفقدها وعيها مرةً فغابت عن الوجود، فظُن بها الموت، وأرسلت جثتها إلى الصحراء، فعثر عليها أمير الجنوب، ولما غسلها استعادت حياتها، وتزوجا وأنجبا طفلين، واعتدى المعتدون على إمارتها، فذهبت إلى الشمال، إلى أبيها تستنجده فأنجدها، وحقق الانتصار، ونصبها وزوجها ملكين على الإمارتين. د. أحمد راتب حموش 1/9/2008
