كما يشعر يكتب الشاعر الفلسطيني نواف رضوان هكذا بدا في عمله (الصلاة الأخيرة على باب الكنيسة) يحيلنا خلاله على تجربة جديدة خرجت للتو من مختبره الشعري الخاص، مستعيناً بلغة سردية تحتفي بالغرباء، ترصد حالهم عبر مشاهد ومواقف وتفاصيل صغيرة، ملتصقة بحياة الشاعر وحياة محيطه، حيث يدور في شوارع المدن ويقف على منعطفات الأرصفة يصور حياة الشعراء: طفي حانة الغرباء، يهذي شاعر ويقول مت لكي أريح وأستريح/ من القصيدة، لا مغر من البكاء، ولا مغرَ من المغرَ (...) يا وطناً بنزف النون يصحبني إلى ذاكريَ من زمنٍ إلى زمنٍ متى سأعود لك؟/ ومتة يعود محارب للبيت بعد الموت/ يا وطني متى سأعود لك(...)". في الكتاب مقطوعات شعرية تتراوح بين الطول والقصر، وتنوعة الثيمات، في الحب والغربة والتمرد والفقد والغياب صاغها الشاعر بلغة نثرية متميزة ووزعها على أربعة مجموعات هي: 1- في حانة الغرباء، 2- الصلاة الأخيرة على باب الكنيسة، 3- الملهاة، 4- تكوين.
