تأتي إعادة طباعة هذه المجلة الشهرية في إطار خطة اللجنة الوطنية العليا لإعلان عمّان عاصمة للثقاة العربية لعام 2002، لإحياء التراث الوطني الثقافي في الأردن، ولا سيما أن هذه المجلة جزء من مشروع يشمل إعادة طباعة خمس مجلات رائدة في الحركة الثقافية والأدبية في القرن العشرين. ومن المهم القول أن مجلة القلم التي يجمع مختلف إصداراتها هذا المجلد قد شكلت في الفترة التي صدرت فيها مناخاً فكرياً وأدبياً، إذ اشتملت على صور من حركة الحداثة والتجديد في ذلك الزمان. أما هدفها التي كانت تسعى لتحقيقه فهو إخراج الأقلام الأردنية من مكامنها، لتنتج وتعمل على خلق نهضة أدبية محلية ناجحة، فتساهم بذلك في نهضة الأدب العربي الكبيرة العامة. وكذلك العمل على إنماء التقارب الفكري والروحي بين الأقطار، ومن المفكرين الذين حوت صفحات المجلة بعضاً من مقالاتهم وأبحاثهم ودراساتهم نذكر: محمد أديب العامري، فدوى طوقان، البرت الريحاني، جبرا إبراهيم جبرا، نجات صدقي، إحسان عباس، جليل عساف... كما وتحتوي المجلة على العديد من المقالات الأدبية والسياسية والاجتماعية هذا بالإضافة إلى النشاطات الفكرية والإعلانات المبوبة الصادرة في ذلك الحين أي من سنة 1952/أيلول-آب 153.
