إن كتاب نافيد كرماني نص تعبيري يتطابق تمامًا مع المفهوم الأصلي لجنس النص التعبيري، لأنه لم يستغن عن وجهة النظر الشخصية للكاتب وتجاربه كابن لأسرة إيرانية مسلمة مقيمة في المهجر، بل يجعلها موضوعًا راهنًا ومرجعًا لاستخلاص الدروس. كما يتناول الكتاب موضوع بناء المساجد ومؤتمر الإسلام ومساعي الاندماج الأخرى، فضلًا عن الأحكام المسبقة تجاه الإسلام عند السياسيين الألمان التي برزت بوضوح في قضية سجين جوانتانامو مراد كورناتس. علاوة على ذلك يشرح الكتاب كيف ولماذا يتولد عند المسلمين الأتراك انطلاقًا من الإقصاء الاجتماعي والاقتصادي الذي يعيشونه إحساس بالكراهية يعبر عنها في شكل ألفاظ دينية تجاه «الغرب»، كما يطرح تساؤلًا عما إذا كان الإسلام قابلًا للاندماج أصلًا، ويرد عليه بالتالي: إن ذلك يتعلق بنوعية الإسلام الذي يقصده المرء. لا يسعى هذا الكتاب إلى تأجيج الصراع بل إلى تشجيع الحوار البناء، وهنا تكمن دلالته القصوى، حيث كتب بأسلوب يفهمه العامة ويفسر أشياء كثيرة دون الالتجاء إلى الوعظ والإرشاد. لقد ألف هذا الكاتب عالم دين لديه دراية بكرة القدم، كما أوضح كيف يمكن للمرء أن يكون مشجعًا لفريق إف سي كولونيا لكرة القدم، بصرف النظر عما إذا كان المرء قد عمد في بيرة كولش أو أنه قد اغتسل بماء زمزم.
