ثم يتناول الكتاب الأمراض الجنسية عند الذكر والإنثى ويقدم تشخيصات لها وطرقا للوقاية منها وعلاجها بالتفصيل.
ومن جانب آخر يتحدث عن أحكام الجنس الشرعية بأشكاله كافة، ويتحدث عن الختان والحكمة منه، وعن الأحكام الشرعية في بعض الممارسات الجنسية الشاذة، ثم يجري مقارنات بين الأحاديث النبوية الشريفة وآخر ما توصل إليه متخصصو علم الجنس من أمثال جونسون ونورا هايدن.
ولقد ارتكز المؤلف في كتابه القيم هذا إلى مجموعة كبيرة من المراجع العلمية والفكرية والدينية، وقدم كتابه بلغة سهلة وعلمية وصريحة، بحيث يمكن للقارىء أيا كان مستوى ثقافته أن يعود إلى الكتاب بيسر وسهولة.

والمؤلف الدكتور منير أبو السمن طبيب ذو خبرة في الإعلام الطبي، فهو رئيس تحرير مجلة تصدر عن نقابة الأطباء الأردنيين، ومدير تحرير لمجلة طبية أخرى، ورئيس لجنة التراث الطبي الإسلامي في نقابة الأطباء الأردنيين، وعضو الهيئة الإدارية في جمعية تعريب العلوم في الأردن، ورئيس فرع نقابة الأطباء في مدينة الرصيفة الأردنية، ورئيس اللجنة العلمية في جمعية الطبيب العام في نقابة الأطباء الأردنيين.
