في هذه الرواية يقدم "فهد فاتك" مقاربته النقدية للواقع الاجتماعي في بلاده بكثير من الجرأة والنقد الفعال الذي يسمي الأشياء بأسمائها دون تزييف أو مقاربة. ينطلق الروائي في نصه من خلال ثورة المراهقين على ثقافة وتقاليد المجتمع. مسلطاً الضوء على مشكلة الفرد المراهق الذكر، والمراهقة الانثى مع المجتمع وعاداته وتقاليد. أيضاً تحدث في روايته عن المشاكل المدرسية، من حيث المناهج، وتعامل المعلمين مع التلاميذ ومشكلاتهم، كما تطرق للجدل الديني ومواعظ رجال الدين من خلال خطبة الجمعة "بأنها صارت وسيلة لشتم الشباب العصاة أكثر من أنها وسيلة لهدايتهم..". أما الموضوع الأشد وطأة على الشباب والمجتمع فهو الشذوذ والانحراف العاطفي يقول "ما لا يمكن أن يكترث له المجتمع هو أن يكون لك عشيقاً ذكراً أو يكون لها عشيقة أنثى" كما أسهب الروائي في الحديث عن كثير من الظروف التي يمر بها الجيل الجديد حيث غابة ثقافة المجالس قائلاً لم يعلمانا آبائنا على ثقافة المجالس فصرنا تربية شوارع!، ولا يخلو العمل من إشارة الى مشكلة الطلاق مطالباً المجتمع بمعاقبة الرجل المزواج المطلاق فجسد الأنثى ليس للعبث... الى آخر ذلك من مشكلات تعانيها غالبية المجتمعات العربية التقليدية وليس في بلد المؤلف فحسب.. "الجازاويات" رواية تستحق القراءة بعمق.
