عبد الكريم السبعاوي روائي فلسطيني.
ولد في 1942 في حارة التفاح بمدينة غزة، لأسرة فقيرة ولكن مثقفة.
عمل في غزة مدرسا حكوميا ثم محررا في جريدة أخبار فلسطين.
في عام 1966 التحق السبعاوي بجيش التحرير الفلسطيني ولكن حرب 1967 عاجلت ذلك الجيش وحالت دون استكمال تدريبه وتسليحه.نفي من غزة بعد دخول الجيش الإسرائيلي لها.
قضى السبعاوي في إحدى مخيمات النازحين بعمان عاما كاملا قبل أن يتوجه الي السعودية حيث عمل في وظائف صغيرة لإعالة أسرته الكبيرة (أب وأم وخمسة أخوة وزوجة وأطفال).
في عام 1974 انتقل السبعاوي للعمل الحر وقد منحه ذلك فرصة زيارة معظم أنحاء العالم إلى أن استقر عام 1981 في مدينة ملبورن الأسترالية هو وزوجته وسبعة أطفال (كتب السبعاوي عن ذلك في روايته التي تضمنت ما يشبه السيرة الذاتية رواية "البحث عن الترياق في بلاد واق الواق) وفي سن الأربعين انعطف السبعاوي إلى كتابة الرواية.
في سن الأربعين انعطف السبعاوي إلى كتابة الرواية.
بدأ بالعنقاء أول رباعية ارض كنعان.
وغازت الرواية بجائزة جبران العالمية.
وتبنت وزارة الثقافة في أستراليا ترجمتها إلى الإنجليزية ونشرتها دار بيبرز للنشر في ملبورن.
بعدها توالى نشر أعماله باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.
وفي الستين من عمره انجز رواية رابع المستحيل الجزء الأخير من الرباعية.
أي أن كل جزء منها استغرقت كتابته خمس سنوات (تغطي هذه الملحمة مائتي عام من تاريخ فلسطين).
