"هبط ضباب كثيف في أرجاء الشارع، فتعذرت الرؤية بشكل كبير، ولكن من وسط حجب الضباب بدا ذلك الظل الذي بانت معالمه، ليظهر للعيان رجل طويل القامة حاد الملامح، يرتدي معطفاً ذا حرملة وقبعة عالية، راح يجري بفزع وكأن شياطين الجحيم تطارده، وبين الفينة والأخرى يلتفت إلى ما خلفه مذعوراً، ثم يزيد من سرعة ركضه كانون. انحرف إلى شارع جانبي، وأخذ يعدو بسرعة، ويبدو أن الضباب الذي كسا الموجودات لم يكشف له أن هذا الشارع الجانبي مسدود، ولا يؤدي إلى أي مكان، فلم يشعر إلا وقد ارتطم بالجدار الذي يسد نهاية الشارع، ثم يسقط على ظهره يتأوه في ألم، ثم قام مترنحاً يحاول إيجاد طريق آخر؛ غير أن صوت الخطوات الذي جاءه من بداية الشارع سادا عليه طريق العودة جعله يتجمد بذعر، ثم التصق بالجدار مراقباً بعين جاحظة هذا الظل، الذي راح يتقدم ناحيته مخترقاً حجب الضباب. *** يستمر (محمد عبد العليم) في إبحاره بين عوالم الرعب والفانتازيا والخيال العلمي، فيقدم لنا هذه المرة رواية شيقة، استخدم فيها التاريخ ملعباً لأحداث غرائبية، يصنعها أبطال أكثر غرابة، وهو شيء برع فيه، وخضناه معه من قبل في إصداراته السابقة، بدايةً من "داي نيبون" رواية الخيال العلمي التي صدرت عن دار ليلى، مروراً بروايتي "ليل"، و"سوبك"، ومجموعته القصصية "أفكار شيطانية"، وكلها أعمال صدرت عن دار اكتب، غير أنه هذه المره ينقب عميقاً في التاريخ، ويسير بين ردهاته الأكثر إظلاماً، فمروراً بالمهلائيليين وحربهم ضد أغرب المخلوقات، وصولاً لأشنع القتلة المتسلسلين، نهاية إلى عصرنا الحالي، حيث بطلنا (شريف)، الطبيب الجنائي. فماهو الشيء الذي يمكن أن يتسبب في الجمع بين وربط هذه الأشياء؟! إنها خلطة الكاتب المفضله، يتجلّى فيها المجهود الذي بذله من أجل صناعة رواية شيقة، بعناصر غرائبية جديده. القتلة حيث تعرف أن العالم عباره عن رحم ضخم عفن، أنجب أقبح العقول، إد جين، جاك السفاح، إليزبيث باثوري، خط الصعيد! لكني من جديد أكرر: ماهو الشيء الذي من الممكن أن يتسبب في ربط كل هؤلاء ببعض؟ فلنقرأ، لنعرف.
