إن مجلة القانون العام الفرنسية هي من أهم المراجع الفقهية في القانون العام التي نعرفها اليوم. ومشروع ترجمة هذه المجلة هو مشروع جريء، وأهم من كل ذلك، فهو مفيد جداً لكل باحث قانون في مجتمعنا العربي القانوني. فمجلة القانون العام تصدر كل شهرين في فرنسا، مما يعني أن ترجمتها يحتاج الى مؤسسة كبيرة، دؤوبة وجهد كبير.وللترجمة أصول كما نعلم، ولها طرقها أيضاً، ولذلك، كان متوجباً اختيار وسيلة للقيام بهذه الترجمة. فهل يكون من الأفضل، ترجمة المجلة بتقديم المعاني على المباني اللغوية، أم يجدر المحافظة على أسلوب كل كاتب، مع ملاءمته قدر الإمكان مع اللغة العربية، وذلك حفاظاً على تنوع المجلة، ومنعاً من أن يغلب أسلب المترجم، أو المدقق، على أسلوب كتب المقال الأساسي. بعد نقاش، جرى اعتماد الطريقة الثانية، ولذلك، قد نجد في مواقع عدة نوعاً من الترجمة الحرفية لبعض الجمل، وذلك يهدف الى الحفاظ قدر الإمكان على خصوصية كل كاتب وأهمية التنوّع الموجود في المجلة.
