تقوم هذه الدراسة لأدب الرحلة الجزائري الحديث إنطلاقاً من بحث في سياقات الكتابة وخطابات الأنساق، بدءاً من إشكالية النص في الرحلة، الرحلة من منظور علم النص وقضايا السرد، إشكالية المدونة ومظان تمركز النص، إشكالية الأدبية في نص الرحلة، مروراً بتمثلات الأنا والآخر في النص الرحلي، الإختلاف الثقافي، صورة الآخر الجواني من خلال نصوص الرحلة إلى العالم العربي بوصفها مرآة للأنا.
وصولاً إلى درس الخطاب الرحلي المحكي وآليات إنتاج النص، وصوت الرحالة والوضعية السردية، والتبئير في الرحلة ودينامية السرد، وتختم بدراسة المتلقي؛ فالنسق الإطار والنموذج.
لم يكن سهلاً على الباحث الوصول إلى المادة الجزائرية في أدب الرحلة، لكن عمله لسنوات على جمع نصوصها من المظان وتحقيقها وإعدادها للنشر، سهل عليه في ما بعد، وأضاء له الطريق.
الدراسة تستكمل ما كانت دراسات أخرى قد شرعت في الكشف عنه من هذا الأدب، الذي ظل بكامل مدونته مجهولاً حتى من قبل الباحثين العرب في هذا الحقل، وهي تستكشف نص الرحلة بأدوات بحث جديدة، ومنهج يتصادى مع المناهج العلمية المتبعة اليوم، لا سيما في المغرب الذي يعتبر باحثوه رواداً في قراءة نصوص الرحلة العربية، وهي تستحق عن جدارة جائزة ابن بطوطة لأدب الرحلة، فرع الدراسات، وظهورها إلى النور يمكن الباحثين مؤرخي الأدب من طرح أسئلة والوقوف على إشكاليات تتعلق بآثار غفل عنها الباحثون، وهي مدونة الرحلة الجزائرية في الفترة الإستعمارية.
