أن الموضوع الرئيسي والأساسي في الرياضيات المالية هو الفائدة ودراسة الفائدة لاتأخذ أهميتها من كونها تستعمل في البنوك في عمليات مختلفة كالقروض والأيداعات وحسب بل هي تشكل نسبة مئوية ويمكن أستعمالها كمعدل عائد وهذا يدخل في كثير من الدراسات وأهمها أدارة الأستثمارات وأدارة المحافظ المالية ودراسة الجدوى الأقتصادية . وتم تقسيم هذا الكتاب الى ثلاثة أبواب حيث أحتوى الباب الأول على أدوات رياضية من الضروري الأطلاع عليها ومعرفتها لانها هي أدوات لأثبات بعض قوانين الفائدة البسيطة والفائدة المركبة وهذة الأدوات هي قوانين الأسس والجذور والمتواليات العددية والمتواليات الهندسية واللوغاريتمات . أما الباب الثاني فيحتوي على توضيح كامل من جوانب مختلفة للفائدة البسيطة مبتدأ بلمحة تاريخية ودينية عن الفائدة بشكل عام ثم دراسة قانون الفائدة البسيطة للدفات المتساوية بأنواعها , خصم الديون بفائدة بسيطة . والباب الثالث والأخير يحتوي على الفائدة المركبة من حيث قانون الفائدة المركبة , جملة المبلغ والقيمة الحالية , تسوية الديون طويلة الأجل , جملة الدفعات المتساوية بفائدة مركبة والقيمة الحالية للدفعات المتساوية بفائدة مركبة أو سداد الديون على أقساط متساوية منتظمة .
