يصوغ الشاعر قصائده من المتروكات والمهملات، يعيد الاعتبار للأشياء الصغيرة. بلغة بسيطة وهادئة، من رومانسية مستعادة، حيث ينبت الشعر بين ساق الوردة وجزمة الجندي. نبذة النيل والفرات: "في الشارع الممتد التقينا.. تعانقنا طويلاً تعاتبنا قليلاً، توادعنا على لقيا في المساء... حساءً التقنيات في الصحيفة أنا في صفحة التعارف، هو في صفحة الوفيات". "قبل الحرب، بعد الحرب" ديوان حاز عنه الشاعر السوري "حسين درويش" جائزة يوسف الخال لعام 1993، وفيه صاغ قصائد من المتروكات والمهملات، معيداً الاعتبار للأشياء الصغيرة المتروكة كجزمة الجندي وساق الوردة، وذلك بلغة بسيطة جداً وهادئة تنساب معانيها ما بين الرومانسية المستعادة والواقعية البحتة والراسخة في الواقع.
