يتناول هذا الكتاب التعريف بروايات الجامع الصحيح للإمام البخاري التي انتشرت في المشرق والمغرب، ويناقش أهم القضايا التي تعلقت بروايات صحيح البخاري. وقد اعتمد الكتاب رواية أبي ذرالهروي لصحيح البخاري نموذجاً للتعريف والمناقشة، فعرض الكتاب بصورة تفصيلية لرواية أبي ذرالهروي (ت 434هـ) راوي كتاب الجامع الصحيح عن ثلاثة من أشهر تلاميذ الإمام الفريري (320هـ) وهم أبو إسحاق المستملي (ت 376هـ)، وأبو محمد الحموي السرَخسي (ت 381هـ)، وأبو الهيثم الكشميهني (ت 389هـ)، وبيّن أهمية رواية أبي ذرالهروي ومزايا هذه الرواية وطرقها بصورة خاصة، ومن ثمّ عرض صور الإختلاف التي وقعت بين رواية أبي ذرالهروي وغيرها من روايات صحيح البخاري، وبين أهم أسباب وقوع هذه الفروق بين الروايات، وتناول الكتاب أيضاً عرضاً لمناهج العلماء في التعامل مع إختلاف الروايات للجامع لصحيح؛ فتحدث عن منهج المحدثين من رواة النسخ، ومنهج أبي علي الغساني الجياني ومنهج الحافظ ابن حجر العسقلاني. وامتاز الكتاب بالآتي: -الإعتماد على عدد من النُّسخ المخطوطة لروايات صحيح البخاري كمصادر، رئيسة في إستخلاص مزايا رواية أبي ذرالهروي، وعقد المقابلات وتحري أسباب الإختلافات. -إيراد خرائط توضيحية لطبقات رواية الصحيح عن الإمام البخاري. -بيان أسباب وقوع الإختلافات بين رواة الصحيح وصور هذه الإختلافات. -الرد على بعض الإنتقادات التي وجّهت للجامع الصحيح للإمام البخاري؛ من مثل ما وجه من إنتقادات لبعض الأحاديث في صحيح البخاري، وما وجه من إنتقادات من قبل فؤاد سيزكين في كتابه تاريخ التراث العربي. -خصص الكتاب مبحثاً حرر فيه مسألة التبييض والحذف في صحيح البخاري وخرج بنتائج هامة حول هذه القضية بالإعتماد على النسخ المخطوطة وتتبع المواضع المتعلقة بهذه المسألة.
