يتكون الكتاب من ثلاثه فصول رئيسيه، يتناول الفصل الأول أصول الثقه السياسيه، ويستعرض الفصل الثاني مداخل ونظريات بناء الثقه السياسيه بين المواطن والحكومه، بينما يسلط الفصل الثالث الضوء على أوضاع الثقه السياسيه فى مصر وتداعيات قيام الثورات. ويكشف الكتاب عن الجدل الواسع الذى شهدته الساحه المصريه حول شرعيه وجود رجال الأعمال فى الحكومه وتزاوج السلطه بالمال وتداعيات ذلك على مناخ الثقه السياسى بين المواطن والحكومه، وأعمال الاحتجاج الجمعي، كالإضرابات والإعتصامات وغيرها من المظاهر التى تمثل حاله من ضعف الثقه السياسيه التى وصلت إلى الأحزاب والقوى السياسيه وغيرها من المؤسسات الحكوميه وتصريحات المسئولين. وتطرقت المؤلفه فى الكتاب إلى بيان معنى وأبعاد ومؤشرات الثقه السياسيه، ومداخل قياس الثقه السياسيه، ومعرفه ما إذا كانت هناك أزمه ثقه سياسيه بين المواطن والحكومه فى مصر، وإذا كانت هناك أزمه فما هى أبعادها؟ وكيفيه معالجتها؟ بالإضافه إلى بحث وتحليل مستويات الثقه السياسيه بين المواطن والحكومه، وذلك بالتركيز على الحاله المصريه مع الإشاره إلى تداعيات قيام الثورات مستخدمه منهجيه إمبيريقيه تمثلت فى تطبيق أداه الاستبيان وتحليل الإجابات كمياً وكيفياً. وأكد الكتاب على تآكل الثقه السياسيه والتى تتمثل فى المستوى المتدني لأداء الحكومه، وعجز السياسات العامه عن معالجه المشكلات الداخليه بدليل القصور الملموس فى إشباع احتياجات المواطنين، وضعف استقلال القضاء، وزياده نفوذ الأجهزه الأمنيه والبوليسيه، وتفشى الفساد، واهتزاز مشاعر الثقه الاجتماعيه فى المجتمع. وتراجع دور مصر إقليمياً ودولياً.
