عكفت، للمرة التي قد تجاوز العاشرة، على قراءة ومراجعات "الحرباوات"، وكنت أصاب بنوبة إحباط جديدة، كلما اكتشفت المزيد من الأخطاء. كنت أمتعض في أحيان كثيرة، وأتمنى لو أنها لم تُطبع، لأنها كانت بنظري "لا تليق"! ولكنني الآن، وبعد ست سنوات تقريباً من نفاذ الطبعة الأولى، قررت أن أوقف هذه الحرب المحتدمة بيني وبيني، وأن أعيد طباعة الحرباوات؛ بكل ما فيها.
إذ أنني اكتشفت - متأخراً، أنني خسرت الكثير مما كان لدى "علي" عندما كتب الحرباوات، بأنني خسرت نظرته إلى الفكرة، المعنى، أو الهدف .. دون الرتوش. بأنني بدأت أتنصر عليّ، وأمارس - بصورة أو بأخرى - دوزر القدّاحة التي قبرت "ماجد" وصيّرت حروفه رماداً؛ وإنني منحت الأعين المترصدة، والـ "حرباوات" الشرهة، الفرصة لتنال من "إبن الخمسة عشر ربيعاً".
سأكون مجحفاً، وكاذباً، لو ادّعيت أنني قررت ما قررت بمفردي؛ لا .. كانوا معي، يهمسون لي، ويصرخون أحياناً، طالبين مني أن أحررهم، ليستأنفوا قصّ حكايتهم قبل أن تموت، حرباواتي، أو مراهقيّ الستة، كانوا يريدون أن يتمردوا، ويخرجوا من مكانهم المخبوء "بعيداً عن العيون"، كما اختار لهم "إبن الخمسة عشر عاماً"، قبل أكثر من سبع سنوات. أجل؛ أنا متلبس بها من أقصاي إلى اقصاي، لأنني وضعتني فيها دون أن أشعر، فجاءت أصدق كتاباتي التي لو عكفت طيلة الدهر على كتابة نص بقدر صدفها؛ لعجزت. إنها قطعة مني، ولا أستطيع التنكر لها.
