في روايتها (نورس باشا) تمتع "هاجر قويدري" من التاريخ العثماني مادة روائية تحمل خصوصية جزائرية، حيث تميط اللثام عن الكثير من التفاصيل الدقيقة عن طريقة العيش (العادات والتقاليد) والعلاقات الإجتماعية في مجتمع يتسم بالتعدد العرقي والديني، نظراً لمكانة القصبة في ذلك الوقت كحاضرة للعثمانيين. تدور أحداث الرواية أثناء فترة حكم مصطفى باشا إبان القرن السابع عشر وتعالج قصة بطلتها "الضاوية" تتزوج ثلاث زيجات فاشلة وتقرر الإنتقال إلى العاصمة، حيث يخيم الحزن على حياتها إلا أنه لا يخلو من أمل وتمرد، ولكن التمرد الذي كان في ذلك الزمن - كما تقول الروائية -: "يحتفظ لنفسه بالكثير من الحياء، القصد من الرواية بالفعل هو رحلة "الضاوية" وعلاقتها بال "باشكاتب" و "كتونيوس" وبنفسها قبل كل شيىء، والتركيز على حالة التسامح بين الأديان فالضاوية سامحت كتونيوس وهذا هو التسامح بين الأديان (...) باعتبار أنها تعرفت عليه أثناء هربه بكنزها وتركته (...)". واختتمت الرواية بالقول "لا أعرف إن كنت نجحت في هذا الضماد لرواية مجروحة، أم أنني فتحت جروحها أكثر لديكم فليسامحني الله ... ولتسامحني الضاوية".
